The "Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology: Agricultural intelligence" (JAIST) is a scientific-extension publication that has been issued biannually since the beginning of the 1397 (2018) solar year by the "Agricultural Center for Information Science and Technology (ACIST)" under the "Agricultural Research, Education & Extension Organization" (AREEO). The journal publishes extension-oriented findings regarding agricultural information services, agricultural information science and technology, the management of agricultural libraries and information centers, and all topics related to agricultural intelligence. On September 24, 2018 (2 Mehr 1397), the Deputy for Press and Information Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance issued the publication license for the journal. Subsequently, by the decision of the publisher and the editorial board - and with the aim of expanding the journal's thematic scope to include "agricultural intelligence" - the title was changed from the "Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology" to the "Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology: Smart Agriculture", in accordance with Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance permit No. 82886 (dated June 30, 2026 / 9 Tir 1405).
