About The Journal of Agricultural Information Sciences and Technology and Smart Agriculture (JAIST)

The "Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology and Smart Agriculture" (JAIST)  (previoesly Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology) is a scientific-extention publication that has been issued biannually since early 2018 (1397 SH) by the  Agricultural Center for Information Science and Technology (ACIST) under the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO). On September 24, 2018 (2 Mehr 1397), the Deputy for Press and Information Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance issued the publication license for the journal to the ACIST. By the decision of the publisher and the editorial board - and with the aim of expanding the journal's thematic scope to include "agricultural intelligence" - the title was changed to the "Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology and Smart Agriculture" (JAIST) (authorized by Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance permit No. 82886, dated June 30, 2026/9 Tir 1405). Furthermore, the publication of this journal with a "scientific-extension" rank was approved during the 106th meeting of the Organization’s Publications Council on May 30, 2017 (9 Khordad 1396; approval No. 11869/221). In accordance with Clause 4, Article 13 of the regulations regarding the expansion and advancement of the Organization's academic staff, this journal holds a scientific-extension rank as recognized by the Organization’s Promotion Board Secretariat and the institutes' select committees; articles published therein are awarded up to 3 points. The journal publishes extensional findings related to agricultural information dissemination, agricultural information science and technology, management issues concerning agricultural libraries and information centers, and various aspects of agricultural intelligence. The journal's team hopes that the dissemination of these findings will pave the way for a better future for the country's information society, particularly within the agricultural sector.

• The first all-extensional and all-electronic jornal in the field of Knowledge and information science and agricultural information technology in the country;
• Uses an editorial board consist of experts from both fields of Knowledge and information science and Agricultural Information Technology among faculty members and university and organizational researchers;
• Journal follows a double-blind peer review (that is, neither the author is aware of the referees' profile, nor the referees are aware of the author's profile) and each article review by at least 2 subject experts;
• Gaining the first rank of ‘compliance with the publishing standard of extensional magazines’, among the extensional magazines of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO) since 2017;
• Full electronic publishing of articles as soon as the process of receiving and peer reviewing of articles is completed;
• Publishing the title and abstract of the articles in ‘Coming soon’ section of JAIST soon after finishing the peer review and correction process;
• All accepted articles are free accessed in two PDF and XML formats;
• Most of the author(s) will receive the acceptance or rejection of their article within 10 days max;
