Publication Ethics for Journal of Agricultural Information Science and Technology (JAIST)

JAIST follows the rules of the Committee on Ethics in Publication (COPE) and respecting the rules of ethics in publications. The members of the editorial board, writers, peer reviewers, editors and readers should observe these ethical principles in collaboration with this publication.  the publisher’s Ethical responsibilities

  • The publisher undertakes that the JAIST’s editorial board decisions about all articles are ultimate and these decisions are made only based on professional judgment and are not influenced by any interest;
  • The publisher undertakes to supervise adherence of the JAIST’s members of editorial board, peer reviewers, editors, and the authors of articles to ethical principles;
  • The publisher undertakes to respect the corrections, principles of transparency and retraction or deletion of published articles at all times.

 

General duties and ethical responsibilities of editor-in chief

  • has full authority in rejecting or accepting articles;
  • Takes responsibility for the accuracy of the articles published in JAIST;
  • Adheres to the confidentiality and anonymity of referees' information;
  • Does not disclose the content of articles except to the original author (s), referees and, if necessary, other editors;
  • strives to meet the scientific needs of JAIST’s readers and writers;
  • Struggle to advance the goals of JAIST;
  • Ensures the quality of articles published in the journal;
  • Protects freedom of expression in JAIST’s published contents;
  • In publishing the JAIST and its articles, it pays attention to the principle of uniformity and standard compliance;
  • does not ignore moral and intellectual principles due to the financial needs;
  • Willingly corrects, explains, and retracts articles, and apologizes when needed.

 

Authors' ethical considerations

  • It is necessary to observe the basic principles of writing and research in writing an article. Submitted articles must be written and organized exactly according to the style of the journal;
  • The responsible author of the article must receive and send the consent of the other authors by completing the authors' commitment sheet;
  • Before submitting the article to the JAIST, the responsible author must approve the list and order of the authors and attach the other writer’s approval. Any addition, deletion or rewriting in the list of authors will be possible only with the reasons given by the responsible author and the approval of other authors and the JAIST editor-in-chief. After electronic printing of the article, any changes will be impossible;
  • The article submitted to the JAIST must be original and not published in any domestic or foreign publication;
  • Authors should not use fictitious information, either raw or processed, in their submitted work;
  • All authors must observe scientific honesty and cite any use of sources in the text of their article with in-text citations as well as in the references based on the style of the JAIST;
  • There should not be ethnic, cultural, national, gender, identity, and language discrimination in the submitted works. Otherwise, the articles will not be accepted;
  • Authors should be aware that in order to prevent scientific misconduct, the articles sent to the JAIST will be searched in related databases and will be compared with matching software.

 

General principles of peer reviewing

  • Judge only articles that are within their area of ​​expertise, time, and ability;
  • Keep the results of the arbitration confidential and do not disclose any information of the initial version of articles in any arbitration stages;
  • Do not use the information obtained during the arbitration, for their own benefit or any other person or organization, or to harm or discredit others;
  • Report potential or existing non-conformities with journal policy;
  • Nationality, religion, political beliefs, gender and similar issues should not affect their judgment;
  • observe the principle of neutrality in comments and criticisms and avoid verbal violence and the use of nasty and insulting terms in their notes;
  • Pay attention to the two-sidedness of the arbitration process and play their part in this bilateral action at the specified time.

 

Plagiarism

JAIST considers only extensional articles from original and reliable scientific researches or from the author's scientific experience combined with original library researches to be valuable. Therefore, in the field of plagiarism, it has never ignored and if it is found, it will reject or cancel the article at any stage of the process before or after the electronic publication, and will report the cases to the relevant authorities. All articles submitted to this journal will be carefully reviewed and read to ensure the absence of plagiarism. Verbatim copying, plagiarism of visual material, use of diagrams, photos, or tables without reference, and superficial or inadequate interpretation of material are examples of plagiarism.

 

Free access to information

Open Access means free access to scientific resources in the electronic environment. The Budapest Open Access Declaration was first published in 2002 in Budapest, Hungary, with the participation of pioneering groups in the open access movement.

Agricultural Center for Information Science and Technology (ACIST), which is the publisher of JAIST, declares its adherence to the Budapest Open Access Statement and fully complies with it. This journal is a completely open access periodical. That is, all articles after acceptance (articles under publication) and after printing, are immediately available to everyone in electronic format, free and open access on the Internet. If the article is cited and the author's right is respected, it is allowed to use, distribute and share the JAST’s articles in any media, network and website.

Fast and timely publishing, increase visibility and accessibility, access to the articles from anywhere and at any time, and increase the number of citations to articles are among the advantages of open access policy.
