Abstract

Despite the appropriateness of the country's land for olive production, the export of this product is very low, compared to neighboring countries. The main problem of Iran's olive export is its delivery system, in which the large transportation companies have turned into the main networks for olive trades. This situation has taken away the power of negotiation from the producers. Using information and communication technologies is one of the possible solutions to solve this problem. Bearing in mind the low export and the increasing inefficiency and confusion of the olive market, in this research, the factors affecting the economic efficiency of olive exporting companies are investigated by emphasizing the use of information and communication technology (ICT). Olive managers and exporters are suggested to make a fundamental change in their export management by diversifying olive export products and strategic planning to take advantage of the capabilities of these technologies.
