Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to measure the readiness of libraries and information centers of research institutes and centers affiliated to the Agricultural Research, Education and Extention Organization (AREEO) to establish a knowledge-based organization.
 
Methodology : The method of this research is an analytical survey. 112 librarians working in libraries and information centers affiliated to institutes and research centers of the AREEO consists the Society of Research population. Data were collected by two researcher-made questionnaires. To assess the validity of the questionnaire, formal validity and reliability of Cronbach's alpha test were used.
 
Findings: The findings of this study showed that the average of components of organizational readiness in the research community is 73% and is in a favorable situation. Among the six components of organizational readiness, the component of "cultural readiness" with the abundance of 77 (86.24%) has the highest rank. Also, the findings of this study showed that the knowledge based level of the AREEO libraries were 67.7%.
 
Results: According to the results of this study, the components of organizational readiness assessment and components of Knowledge-based organization have a positive and significant relationship in the research population.
