This article is about the importance of intellectual property in knowledge-based development and the most important reasons for Iran's membership in international treaties related to intellectual property and copyright. The views of possible opponents of membership in these conventions and negligence in the implementation of national laws have also been analyzed.
Among the important questions is whether the hypothetical and claimed "interests or benefits" of the opponents are based on the legal, human, religious, and universal "rights" of consumers or producers of information or not? Are there better solutions to protect the "interests or benefits" and "rights" of all people and society as much as possible?
In this article, it was argued that the continuation of the current policies of the government in the field of intellectual property is in conflict with human rights at the national and global level; It is also illegitimate and against religious documents; It is in conflict with reason and logic; It is in conflict with the interests/ benefits of people in Iran; And it is contrary to national and global experiences. It is also against the interests/ benefits of information consumers. It was also argued that the interaction and simultaneity of some technical and social changes, especially in the information, communication and publishing industry, has caused disruption in the national market of production and consumption of knowledge and non-knowledge goods and services under the pretext of Iran's non-membership in these treaties; and the whole society will face big challenges
